GIT Customer Credit Policy

At GIT we offer credit terms to our valued customers as we understand only too well how sometimes you need that valuable breathing space before you make a payment. Please read our terms and conditions set out below. Sadly, if you do not meet our criteria, we will be unable to extend credit terms to you.
GIT has three criteria that we set for the extension of credit terms to our customers. These are:
  1. How long your company has been established
  2. This allows us to extend credit on the basis of how well-established your company is

  3. The value of GIT's products you consume a month
  4. This allows us to offer varying credit facility lengths according to how much you buy from us every month

  5. How long your company has been a customer of GIT
  6. This allows us to assess your payment record as a customer of GIT before extending credit terms

i. If your company is less than three (3) years old, sadly GIT cannot extend credit terms to you.

ii. If your company is from three (3) to five (5) years old, GIT will extend credit up to the value of one month of your average product and service consumption

iv. If you company is more than ten (10) years old, GIT will extend credit up to the value of two and a half months of your average product and service consumption

i. If you spend up to AED 3,000 on GIT products and services, we can extend credit terms for fourteen (14) days from the date of the invoice

ii. if you spend between AED 3,000 and AED 5,000 on GIT products and services, we can extend credit terms for twenty-one (21) days from the date of the invoice

iii. If you spend more than AED 5,000 on GIT products and services, we can extend credit terms for thirty (30) days from the date of the invoice

iv. If you spend more than AED 10,000 per month, we can extend, on an exceptional basis, credit for more than thirty (30) days subject to agreement with the GIT CEO, and the caveat that your company falls under term 2.iv, as set out above

We reserve the right to deny the extension of credit for an unlimited period of time if we feel that your payment record with us is insufficiently timely. This is solely at the discretion of the GIT CEO.
Government departments, multinationals and other established companies and subsidiaries, given their unique situations, will be dealt with on a case by case basis and may therefore not necessarily be subject to the conditions stated above.
We understand that business fluctuates, and that consumption may rise or fall. Given this fact, we will reassess company credit facilities every six months, or on appeal to the GIT CEO should there be exceptional consumption changes or there has been a disruption to the creditworthiness of the company.

If you wish to take advantage of GIT's credit facility, you will need to do the following before applying:

i. Ensure that your company fits the criteria mentioned above or we will be unable to extend credit terms to you. If you are in any doubt as to your eligibility, please contact us for advice

ii. Meet us, or formally apply to us, to formally begin the credit application procedure. Once agreed, and the agreement is signed, you will be able to continue with step three

iii. Send GIT ministry validated copies of your trade licence. Please note that if this is not sent to us within sixty (60) days of the signing of the credit agreement, we cannot proceed to extend any credit terms to you and the agreement will be automatically revoked. Once we have received your trade licence copy, credit terms will be applied from the next order you place with us. Until that time, we will only accept cash on delivery orders

Your credit terms will be revoked at the sole discretion of GIT management in the following circumstances:
  1. If you fail to finalise the credit application process in the time stated above in point 7.iii
  2. If your company:
  1. files for bankruptcy
  2. undergoes liquidation
  3. experiences change of ownership in the licence name
  4. goes into receivership
  5. experiences any other difficulty or threat that GIT believes will impact the creditworthiness of your company
  6. continuously pays late
If any member of your company, or person affiliated to your relationship with GIT, is aware of any of the conditions above that your business is undergoing, and does not report the matter to GIT's account department in writing the moment they hear of such an event, they are liable under the applicable law for any subsequent loss or damages that accrues from their action or inaction, where it can be legally proven they were in possession of this information at the time.
